Best: A-A-A. Tie-break: compare the rank of the three matching cards.

Published 2026-10-28 · Teen Patti Gold Guide editorial team

Listed from **strongest to weakest** (standard Teen Patti Gold rules):
1. **Trail (Trio / Three of a Kind)**
Three cards of the same rank.
Example: A♠ A♥ A♦
Best: A-A-A. Tie-break: compare the rank of the three matching cards.

2. **Pure Sequence (Pakki Run / Straight Flush)**
Three consecutive cards, all same suit.
Example: 9♥ 10♥ J♥
Order for sequences: A-K-Q > A-2-3 > K-Q-J > Q-J-10 … down to 2-3-4
> Important: K-A-2 is NOT a valid sequence.

3. **Sequence (Run / Straight)**
Three consecutive cards, mixed suits.
Example: 5♠ 6♥ 7♦
Same sequence ranking order as pure sequence. Any sequence beats a Colour.

4. **Colour (Flush)**
Three cards of the same suit, but not consecutive.
Example: A♦ K♦ 7♦
Tie-break: compare highest card → second → third. Suit itself does NOT break ties.

5. **Pair (Double)**
Two cards of the same rank + one different kicker card.
Example: Q♠ Q♥ 4♣
Tie-break: compare the pair rank first, then the kicker.

6. **High Card**
No matching pair, no sequence, no colour.
Example: A♠ 8♥ 5♣
Tie-break: compare highest card, then second, then third.

Quick Cheat Sheet

✅ Trail > Pure Sequence > Sequence > Colour > Pair > High Card
✅ A-K-Q is the top sequence; A-2-3 is second-best
✅ K-A-2 invalid
✅ Sequence beats Colour (this is different from poker)
✅ If two hands are the same category, compare ranks one by one
